Refound (“Refound”, “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Refound platform, including our website (refound.com.au), mobile application (if any), and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, location data (if enabled for QR scanning), pages viewed, time spent on pages, and Platform usage logs (automatically collected via cookies or similar technologies).

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (e.g., health data) unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., in item descriptions), in which case it is treated with extra care. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you: When you register an account, generate QR codes, report a found item, pay to unlock contact details, purchase stickers, submit forms, or contact us.
  • Automatically: Through your use of the Platform (e.g., via cookies, analytics tools).
  • From third parties: Payment processors, analytics providers, or as required by law.

Where possible, you may browse anonymously or use a pseudonym, but many features (e.g., item reporting, registration or recovery) require identification.


3. How We Use and Disclose Your Information

  • Provide and improve our services (e.g., notify owners of found items, share finder contact details after payment).
  • Process payments and purchases (e.g., QR code stickers).
  • Respond to queries or support requests.

  • Prevent fraud, security breaches, or misuse.

We may disclose personal information:

  • Between users: Finder contact details to registered owners (core to our service).
  • To service providers: Third-party providers for hosting, payment processing, analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and email services.
  • Overseas recipients: Some providers may store or process data overseas (primarily in the United States); we take reasonable steps to ensure compliance with Australian privacy standards.

Under the APPs, you have the right to:

You can also delete your account and associated data via Platform settings.
